What’s going on guys? I hope you are training hard and getting stronger this summer. The summer months should be the time where you are really able to grow your muscles and reach a new level, especially if you are off from school for a few months and don’t have as much responsibility. I remember some of my most productive months in the weight room were achieved during the summer months of college.
It truly is a great time of the year. As my good friend always says, “Suns out – guns out!” I am always the most motivated during the summer because it is the time of the year where you can whip off your shirt and head to the beach displaying all those gains!
One of the best ways for naturally skinny guys to build lean muscle mass is to drink mass building shakes. The last time I walked into a supplement store, I checked out a few of the weight gain powder tubs just to see what they are putting into them and how much “bang for your buck” you are really getting. I could not believe how overpriced and expensive the weight gain shakes had become!
These mass building formulas are high in protein, but they are absolutely loaded with filler and junk ingredients that will cause you way more stomach pains than lean muscle gains.
What I always recommend to any naturally skinny guy or serious hardgainer is to stay clear of all these “mass gaining formulas” and stick with a regular high-quality protein powder and eat muscle-building complex carbohydrates. Complex carbohydrates and a high-quality protein shake is a much better weight gain formula than a bulking shake filled with maltodextrin, artificial flavors and colors, and a bunch of other cheap fillers.
If you guys want to drink a very high calorie muscle-building shake, I have the perfect recipe for you! I invented this recipe myself after experimenting with a multitude of muscle-building ingredients and a blender. My goal was to combine high-quality protein, healthy fats, and complex carbohydrates in a delicious-to-drink shake. I think I found a winner!
This is the most delicious mass gainer you will ever have! It’s loaded with nothing but high-quality ingredients that will help your body stay anabolic and pack on rock solid lean muscle mass. This packs in so many quality calories that it could even serve as an effective meal replacement.
Save your money and don’t buy those mass-gaining shakes at the supplement store. While things like “Monster Milk” may have a catchy name, it fails in muscle-building capabilities compared to my incredible homemade recipe for gaining weight. Let’s dive into what goes into the best mass gainer.
My Homemade Mass Gaining Shake
There are a total of 7 ingredients in my mass building shake, but most of the ingredients should be things you guys have around the house and already eat on a regular basis. These are all cheap bodybuilding ingredients and will help you save a bunch of money per serving when you compare it to the mass gaining shakes at supplement stores that cost 2-3 dollars per serving and don’t even have half the protein and caloric intake that my mass gaining shake has.
You will need the following ingredients for my mass gaining shake recipe:
-Milk (I use fat-free in my recipe)
-Protein powder (vanilla or chocolate will suffice)
-Avocado (yes, it sounds weird, but trust me, it’s good)
-Peanut butter
-Banana
-Greek yogurt (I use the fat-free in my recipe)
-Whole grain rolled oats
You will want to combine these exact amounts of ingredients into a blender:
1 ½ cup fat-free milk
1 heaping scoop protein powder
½ avocado
2 tbsp peanut butter
1 banana
1 cup Greek yogurt
½ cup whole grain rolled oats
Handful of ice
This is going to be pretty thick, so make sure that you blend it for at least 20 seconds until you get a smooth consistency. Believe it or not, this mass gaining shake contains a little less than 1,000 muscle-building calories, close to 70 grams of protein, and a nice amount of complex carbohydrates and healthy fats! This is a hardgainer’s dream come true. While it may be hard to sit down and eat this many calories in one sitting, this delicious chocolate banana tasting shake allows you to get an easy 950 calories in one sitting.
Muscle Maximizing Mass Builder
This truly contains every single macronutrient your body needs to gain lean muscle and increase your anabolic hormones. The fat-free milk is high in protein and contains your daily value of calcium. The protein powder will pack in 25 grams of delicious protein and contains crucial amino acids for recovery. The avocado adds a creamy texture to the mass-gaining shake and gives you 12 grams of monounsaturated fats and omega 3s. The peanut butter adds in more healthy fat and contains a good amount of protein and potassium to fuel your recovering body. The Greek yogurt is yet another high protein source and will pack in even more calcium and some healthy bacteria to aid in digestion. Last but not least, the whole grain rolled oats will feed your body with 30 grams of slow digesting carbohydrates to replenish your muscle glycogen and give you a sustainable source of energy.
Let me know what you guys think of my mass building shake. I recommend consuming this shake 2-3 times a week for optimal lean muscle gains. Do you have a favorite mass building shake recipe? Share it in the comments below!
